As a globally recognised high quality engineering services provider to a highly demanding client base, our client is growing and highly supportive of a major new phase of their lean six sigma strategy.

The Lean Six Sigma Manager will manage and facilitate continuous improvement activities and initiatives across the UK organisation (mainly at their large single site, but with some travel to other important sites) with accountability for strategy design, project implementation, review and communication of benefits.

This key appointment has full Main Board support and sponsorship of the appointment and to drive an environment of continuous improvement. The job holder will:

  • Take overall accountability for continuous improvement project identification, prioritisation, progress monitoring, tracking of results and reporting of findings across the organisation.
  • Ensure all completed continuous improvement projects are embedded and maintained.
  • Direct managerial responsibility for Green Belt activity.
  • Coaching and mentoring of Green Belt trainees and project completion.
  • Actively engage with peers internally and across the Group to ensure best practice implementation.
  • Use agreed metrics to validate the requirement for projects, and/or justify allocation of resources.
  • Agree and control budget spend.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with cross functional teams working collaboratively to drive improvement programmes.
  • Coaching and mentoring of managers and leaders
  • Develop and drive training to develop Lean Six Sigma culture across the organization.

To be considered it is essential that candidates demonstrate experience of driving continuous improvement / lean initiatives within any demanding services / engineering or manufacturing sector.  Candidates will be of graduate calibre, have a minimum green belt six sigma certification (ideally black belt six sigma) and have a track record of delivering major lean driven projects, training and leading cultural, long-term sustainable change.  You will demonstrate a progressive career, coupled with excellent communication & influencing skills and an engaging hands-on style.
