This is an outstanding opportunity for an engaging and people-focused ‘hands-on’ Lean / Continuous Improvement Director (or Head) with a strategic mindset from any demanding manufacturing sector looking for a long-term career move.
We are recruiting for a multi-billion Euro turnover division of a major global manufacturing pioneering organisation, who are also highly respected and renowned for R&D. The Operational Excellence Director will focus on enabling their Lean Business System to a level of maturity and will drive training, coaching, mentoring and direct application of lean tools and concepts across all functions. The functions will include manufacturing operations, customer service, supply chain, finance, human resources, sales & marketing and R&D. This appointment will be based from their Hampshire office and will take responsibility for Operational Excellence across the division’s 11 global sites.
The newly appointed Operational Excellence Director will receive significant support and Main Board sponsorship; there is genuine visible long-term ‘buy-in’ to develop this programme and a clear path for further career progression. In addition, this is an urgent requirement and they are keen to not delay the recruitment programme.
To be considered it is essential that you have already demonstrated a dedicated Continuous Improvement appointment at senior management / Director level and you will possess experience of driving large scale lean / continuous improvement (CI) programmes from within any demanding and large manufacturing sector. You will be both tactical and strategic in experience, being an expert in a recognised lean business system / lean operating system across multiple sites (ideally, but not necessarily with a European or global remit). You will be degree educated (or higher), demonstrate a progressive career and possess high energy, excellent communication & influencing skills and engaging hands-on people skills, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the work place using lean / continuous improvement (CI) techniques. Due to the nature of the appointment there is a need for flexibility and a willingness for global travel, although much time will be spent from their Hampshire office.
Please note that the basic salary advertised is dependent on experience. In addition to the basic salary, there is a car allowance, bonus, long-term incentive plan and comprehensive flexible benefits package.
