This is a fantastic career development opportunity for a people-focused lean / continuous improvement practitioner to be integral in embedding a major long-term culture of continuous improvement into an organisation at the beginning of their lean journey.  The organisation is a large UK based industrial services solutions provider and the job holder will receive significant support, training and Main Board sponsorship; there is genuine visible ‘buy-in’ to develop a sustainable lean culture.    

Please note that this appointment has responsibility for six sites across the North of England and the North Midlands - previous multisite experience is desirable, but NOT required.  Experience of managing six sigma projects and six sigma certification is desirable, but is NOT required (as lean will be the initial focus and training can be provided in the future).  This is development opportunity, potentially suitable for an ambitious lean practitioner who is at present progressing their career rapidly and looking for a position with increased responsibility to accelerate their development and career.  

Reporting to the Director of Support Services, the Regional Lean / Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager can be based anywhere across the North / North Midlands of England.  This is a ‘hands-on’ appointment and will involve the job holder personally delivering CI projects as well as leading and facilitating the delivery of a CI roadmap across the business.  The job holder will directly support operational managers and indirectly coach and mentor the site based CI Coaches.  Working under the framework of the organisation’s Improvement System, the job holder will assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan to get to the future state, monitor progress and share / acquire best-in-class ideas and systems.

This is a development opportunity for a highly driven and energetic, ‘hands-on, technically competent lean manager and coach.  There are outstanding future career opportunities.  To be considered it is essential that candidates demonstrate experience of driving and training lean / continuous improvement (CI) initiatives from within any fast moving, demanding manufacturing or service sector environment.  Candidates with an automotive background are of particular interest.  You will be of graduate calibre, demonstrate a progressive career and possess energy, excellent communication & influencing skills and engaging hands-on people skills, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the work place using lean / continuous improvement (CI) techniques.  Due to the multisite responsibilities there is a need for flexibility and a willingness to travel across the region specified and also irregular travel to the South Midlands for meetings and training.    

Please note that the salary advertised is dependent on experience. The package includes a company car or car allowance, a performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.
