Lean Leader (Fast Track Development) | North West - Job offered as of 01 June 2016

This is a fantastic ‘career development’ opportunity for a talented lean / continuous improvement specialist or production / operations manager (with exposure to driving lean initiatives) to deploy lean tools and methodologies with extensive employee involvement across the North West region (multi-client sites).

Reporting to the newly recruited Head of Lean (UK) within this global multibillion Euro turnover industrial services solutions provider, the Lean Leader (North West) will be employed within their UK organisation (revenue of approx. £100m pa) and can be based anywhere across the North West of England or North Wales.    

This appointment offers the opportunity to support and embed a long-term culture of lean management into an organisation at the beginning of their lean journey and benefits from full Main Board sponsorship and support.  The job holder will receive significant mentoring and support from the Head of Lean (UK) and from the wider global business / lean department (including regular trips to Europe for training and workshops with other Lean Leaders). Please note that this is a highly autonomous role, working on multiple client sites (mainly large industrial manufacturing and engineering clients) and therefore requires a high level of self-motivation.        

The job holder will demonstrate expertise / best practice and provide specialist training in the use of lean / continuous improvement tools and techniques. Working with the management teams to positively encourage the deployment of trained resources to work on planned and approved projects.

To be considered it is essential that candidates demonstrate some (potentially limited) experience of driving lean / continuous improvement (CI) initiatives within any demanding manufacturing, services or construction / industrial engineering environment.  Candidates may either be Lean Practitioners or Production / Shift / Operations Managers with some experience of driving lean.  Candidates will likely be degree educated, although this is not essential.

You will demonstrate energy, excellent communication and influencing skills and an engaging hands-on people management style, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the work place lean / continuous improvement (CI) techniques. This appointment will be based across the North West of England and therefore flexibility and a willingness to travel in this region and occasionally to Europe (for training / best practice meetings) is required.
