Our client, a multi-billion USD turnover global mining / process manufacturer has created an appointment for a Strategic Lean Six Sigma Expert to be integral to their newly created global Operational Excellence programme.

The Lean Six Sigma Strategic Expert is accountable for providing leadership and establishing the Lean System and manufacturing system policy to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence culture throughout the organisation. The role will work closely with functional areas across the corporation to identify, develop and deploy overall concepts and tools that can be applied by business functions to improve their ability to deliver value. This lean focussed position is responsible to work with managers and functional leaders to drive and support the development of the Operational Excellence programme across all worldwide manufacturing plants (initially to trial sites and mainly working across Europe and Middle East).

• Responsible for developing the policy and the operating manual for the Operational Excellence (OpEx) transformation teams.
• Responsible for developing the principles and the processes for continuous improvement initiatives in the plants
• Act as a center of expertise for all Lean activities
• Responsible for deploying principles and processes across the corporation
• Advise leaders and teams on setting priorities, developing goals and designing objectives.
• Assist OpEx sponsors in identifying and prioritising opportunities to improve productivity throughout the business units.
• Work with OpEx resources to ensure best practices are shared across the organisation.

The job holder can be based in Europe or the Middle East, reporting to a regional head office location and on a day-to-day basis working on site and from a home office location.

To be considered, it is essential to possess Business level competency in English and ideally be degree educated (or higher). Six Sigma Black Belt or Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification would be of distinct advantage. Candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles as demonstrated by world-class benchmarks and have a track record of multisite strategic and operational delivery of lean cultures. Candidates will ideally have experience of working within a similar or aligned industry, in particular mining, industrial engineering, upstream oil & gas, process manufacturing and consumables manufacturing. In addition, we require candidates to have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills alongside excellent communication and influencing skills.

This opportunity is suitable for a highly self-motivated and ambitious individual, willing to travel globally (mainly Europe and Middle East).
