Global lean management consulting practice operating across several sectors, including food and FMCG manufacturing, seek an Interim Lean Consultant (Outside IR35 contract) possessing strong operational management and continuous improvement experience.     

  • Interim contract, Outside IR35, 3 - 6 months initially, very likely to extend
  • End client: FMCG manufacturer with site-based requirements initially in the Stoke on Trent area  
  • FMCG (food or non-food) manufacturing or any demanding / fast-moving manufacturing sector experience
  • Operational management background with lean / continuous improvement experience required   
  • Excellent proven manufacturing shop floor problem solving skills
  • Previous management consulting experience is not required
  • Will work with a team so problem-solving, and facilitation skills are required, rather than previous Management Consulting experience

This is an excellent opportunity for high-calibre individuals possessing a proven track record in problem-solving and implementing their own new initiatives within manufacturing environments. The job holder will advise, plan and lead major improvement projects for manufacturing clients across the UK. As Lean Facilitator, you will lead your client's team in changing methodologies and approaches and then coach and mentor to apply these newly developed principles. You will benefit from a comprehensive development plan; including training of formal company operating principles to generate rapid and sustainable returns and efficiencies.

To be considered, you will ideally be degree educated (or higher), ideally in Engineering or Production Management. You will be highly driven and self-motivated, demonstrating excellent communication skills and an engaging people management style. It is essential that you possess production / manufacturing line management experience gained within an FMCG (food or non-food) environment. You will have a background in driving continuous improvement (CI) utilising either lean six sigma tools or by taking a flexible approach to achieving demanding business improvement initiatives.

The daily rate is highly dependent on experience, expenses are in addition to this.
