  • Large global manufacturing organisation (global headquarters: USA)
  • Integral appointment and highly supported at Board level
  • Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience in manufacturing is essential
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is required
  • Flexible UK location: hybrid working: site based / working from home / UK travel

This is a fantastic ‘career development’ opportunity for a talented lean / continuous improvement specialist with experience of deploying lean tools and methodologies to drive projects across their UK sites.

This appointment offers the opportunity to support and embed a long-term culture of lean management into an organisation at the beginning of their lean journey and benefits from full Main Board sponsorship and support.  The job holder will receive significant mentoring and support from the Business Improvement Head. Please note that this is a highly autonomous role, working on multiple manufacturing sites and therefore requires a high level of self-motivation and willingness to travel (as well as regular home working).

The job holder will demonstrate expertise / best practice and provide specialist training / coaching in the use of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement tools and techniques. Working with the management teams to positively encourage the deployment of trained resources to work on planned and approved projects.

To be considered it is essential that you demonstrate some (potentially limited) experience of driving lean / continuous improvement (CI) initiatives within any demanding manufacturing environment.  Candidates may either be Lean Practitioners or Production / Shift / Operations Managers with some experience of driving and leading lean projects.  Candidates will likely be degree educated, although this is not essential.  Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is essential.

You will demonstrate energy, excellent communication and influencing skills and an engaging hands-on people management style, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the workplace with lean / continuous improvement (CI) techniques.
