Our client, a global management consultancy specialising in process improvement / lean manufacturing requires a senior level Lean Consultant to join their New Zealand team.  This job has been created due to their highly successful New Zealand operation continuing to win high value lean consulting contracts mainly within the manufacturing sector.  Therefore, they are looking to recruit an additional Lean Consultant on a permanent basis to be based in New Zealand and are very interested to consider UK based senior management level lean professionals.

Please note:  Over the last five years we have recruited several Lean Consultants for this organisation based in New Zealand.  Previous lean or lean six sigma ‘management consulting’ experience is advantageous but is not required.

Working mainly with their manufacturing clients Senior Leadership teams, you will develop one to three-year strategies (using a Hoshin Kanri approach, although experience of this is not required) to take top business-level objectives through to workstream plans and department plans.  As facilitator and client engagement manager, you will lead and influence your client’s team in changing methodologies and approaches and then coach and mentor to apply these newly developed principles.  You will benefit from a comprehensive development plan; including training of formal company operating principles to generate rapid and sustainable returns and efficiencies.

To be considered, you will ideally be degree educated (or higher; an MBA is also highly desirable), you will be highly driven and self-motivated, demonstrating excellent communication skills and an engaging people management/leadership style.

Extremely strong lean / six sigma (not necessarily certified) / process improvement skills are essential. It is essential that you have proven lean facilitation skills and strategic experience of change management gained within any large-scale demanding manufacturing sector.  You will have gained this experience in either an operations role, consulting or in a focussed lean management / continuous improvement/process improvement appointment.  Experience or any exposure to Industry 4.0 is also extremely advantageous as this is a major focus area of the future.

This job will be based anywhere in New Zealand (ideally Auckland) and offers the potential for a fantastic work/life balance in addition to exceptional career prospects and realistic high earnings.  My client is used to supporting new recruits in their visa application process and in adapting to life in New Zealand, they will provide much support, as well as a relocation package and flights for yourself and family members (if applicable).
