  • Lean Manager / Continuous Improvement Manager, single site
  • Global FMCG manufacturing organisation with long-term growth plan
  • Integral appointment and highly supported at Senior Management and Board level
  • Lean / continuous improvement experience in manufacturing is essential

This is a fantastic ‘career development’ opportunity for a talented lean / continuous improvement specialist with experience of deploying lean tools and methodologies with extensive employee involvement across a fast-moving and highly dynamic FMCG manufacturing site located in the Doncaster area.

The position of Continuous Improvement Manager will suit a variety of different levels of experience, it may well suit someone with limited CI experience as well as a more seasoned CI professional looking to join a supportive business with a high level of sponsorship for their position and the continuous improvement / lean manufacturing journey.

You will receive significant mentoring and support from the Head of Operations.  This opportunity offers the opportunity to support and embed a long-term culture of lean management into an organisation at the beginning of their lean journey.

  • Evaluate the current state of the business to identify wastes and potentials for improvements (business challenges)
  • Provide the lean management tools and concepts as solutions to the business challenges
  • Provide training of our workforce in lean philosophy, starting with top management
  • Frequently facilitate relevant activities on Gemba (e.g. workshops) to drive breakthrough changes within the operations and rigorously follow up on actions derived from these

  • Develop and drive a strategy to implement an integrated production system that ultimately will interlink all functions and activities

To be considered it is essential that you demonstrate some (potentially limited) experience of driving lean / continuous improvement (CI) initiatives within any demanding manufacturing environment.  Candidates may either be Continuous Improvement Managers / Lean Practitioners or Production / Shift / Operations Managers with experience of driving continuous improvement / lean.

You will demonstrate energy, excellent communication and influencing skills and engaging hands-on people skills, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the work place lean / continuous improvement (CI) techniques.
