Our client, is a leading global brand in the retail / leisure sector with in excess of 500 outlets across the UK and serves several million customers every month.  This newly created key permanent appointment will lead their lean / continuous improvement strategy across their entire UK network from their head office located in the Surrey / M25 border area.

The Lean Project Lead’s remit will benefit from significant support and Main Board sponsorship and visible ‘buy-in’ to develop a CI driven culture.  Still in the early stages of their lean / operational excellence journey, the job holder will be responsible for key projects and strategy design and full rollout, working closely with Regional Directors to drive a continuous improvement programme.  You will likely be based at the head office three days per week, with two days per week based across the UK network, delivering projects and coaching / mentoring.

We require a Lean Project Manager who has operated at mid-senior management level, having worked for any large / blue chip organisations.  We require a candidate with ‘best in class’ lean / process improvement experience and therefore specific industry experience is not required, however candidates with experience in retail, wholesale, food service, restaurant, leisure and any customer facing experience organisation will be of particular interest.

Candidates will be of graduate calibre and demonstrate a progressive career history and have experience of large-scale implementation of lean and continuous improvement programmes.  Candidates possessing six sigma black belt or green belt certification is desirable, but not essential. Most importantly we require a ‘down-to-earth’ leader of people, demonstrating outstanding facilitation skills coupled with a track record of strategically driving and leading cultural, long-term sustainable change.

The basic salary is dependent on experience and in addition the package will include a generous car allowance, bonus and excellent benefits.  Please note, there is a need to travel in this role and therefore flexibility and willingness to work away from home is required.

This is an urgent appointment, managed exclusively by OPEX Selection.  Should you feel your skills and experience are well suited please apply online or for further information contact Dan Sculthorp, Director ‘OPEX Selection’.
