This is a fantastic opportunity for a change management focussed manufacturing leader with exposure to world class manufacturing and lean principles.  We are recruiting for a division of a well-renowned organisation at their manufacturing facility near Bracknell, Berkshire. The site has achieved some impressive results using the tools of their unique Production System, but they are still at the beginning of their world class manufacturing / lean journey with much to build on and implement.  The job holder will receive significant support and the world class manufacturing / lean programme has sponsorship from the Main Board. 

This is a newly created role which forms a critical part of the Site Management Team and will be critical to the site’s drive toward volume manufacturing. The job holder will lead and manage a team of up to 15 colleagues and will champion all aspects of World Class Manufacturing within their value stream and area of control. The job holder will lead and drive production output in accordance with customer delivery dates on time in full, every-time, manage appropriate labour levels and ensure quality is at a maximum. 

Duties include:

  • Provide Health & Safety Leadership
  • Responsible for labour and production planning within their value stream
  • Embed and ensure systems are fully implemented and sustainable
  • Budgetary responsibility for their value stream
  • Drive improvement within their teams
  • Work closely with Safety, NPI, Process Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain & Engineering Services teams to implement and embed efficiency gains
  • Constantly challenge and improve the way they do things

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess previous experience in leading and managing teams, coupled with exposure to World Class Manufacturing and Lean principles.  The job holder will have a clear understanding of value adding and non-value adding activities and driving said implementation plans with the ability to facilitate a team through meetings and workshops to drive improvements.
